THE MARKET: How many major characters will be killed off between April 14 and the end of the season four finale of “Lost”? Each major character’s death will be worth $50/share. For the avoidance of doubt, major characters are as follows: Aaron, Alex, Ben, Charlotte, Claire, Daniel, Desmond, Frank, Hurley, Jack, Jin, Juliet, Kate, Locke, Michael, Miles, Penny, Sawyer, Sayid, Sun, and Walt. Karl and Rousseau were killed before the opening of this market. If no major character dies, shares will be worth $0. If 3 major characters die, shares will be worth $150 (and so on). Trading will close immediately before the first installment of the season finale on May 15th. Media Predict will exercise sole discretion in determining whether a character is alive or dead and will use the appearance of death, or reports by other characters, as guidelines in judging this market.
THE LOWDOWN: “Lost” junkies everywhere are celebrating the news that the typical season ending two-hour episode has been extended by an extra hour. That should give the island (not to mention the unfriendly visitors from the boat offshore) plenty of time to off at least a few people. Spoiler alert!: early indications are that Jin might not make it through the season. How many more will join Charlie, Ana Lucia, and the rest?
