THE MARKET: Will “The Ex List” on CBS make it to a fifth episode? The drama will premiere on Friday, October 3 at 9 p.m. ET. Trading will close immediately after a third episode is aired. If a fifth episode airs, shares are worth $100. If it doesn’t, they’re worth $0.
THE DATA: Elizabeth Reaser (coming off a guest role in “Grey’s Anatomy”) plays the lead in “The Ex List” as a woman who finds out from a psychic that her soul mate is someone she dated in the past. And she has a year to track him down or she’ll be forever single. Kind of like “New Amsterdam,” which lasted all of 8 episodes, in reverse.
OUR TAKE: The fact that the show’s creator and executive producer walked over creative differences with CBS shouldn’t be confidence-inspiring. Nor should the fact that CBS Entertainment President Nina Tassler has openly joked about how long the show will last. In what is fast becoming a lackluster fall, “Ex” could easily get the axe.
