THE DATA: Seth Rogen and Elizabeth Banks, two actors from the Apatow stable, are on loan to Kevin Smith in this comedy that barely dodged an NC-17 rating. Smith’s “Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back” made $11 million its opening weekend. Rogen and Banks’ “The 40 Year Old Virgin” pulled in $21.4 million.

OUR TAKE: Rogen says he almost agreed to play his part “purely based on the title.” Harvey Weinstein can top that. He bought the movie purely based on the title. Audiences have seen a good bit of Rogen in “Pineapple Express” and DVDs of “Knocked Up” and “Superbad.” We think they’re hungry for more. Rating: certified sleeper hit.
