There will be a special election for a U.S. Senate seat from Mississippi on November 6, 2018. The election will replace Thad Cochran (R), who announced on March 5, 2018, that he would resign his seat in the United States Senate on April 1, 2018, due to health concerns.

Governor Phil Bryant (R) appointed Mississippi Commissioner of Agriculture and Commerce Cindy Hyde-Smith (R) to fill the seat on March 21, 2018, until the winner of the election is sworn in. Hyde-Smith is running in the special election, along with state Sen. Chris McDaniel (R), former U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Mike Espy (D), and Tobey Bartee (D).
